장용순은 서울대학교 건축학과를 졸업하고 동 대학원에서 석사학위를 받았다. 파리 베르사이유 건축 대학교를 졸업한 뒤 자크 리포 설계 사무실과 건축사 사무소 기오헌에서 건축 실무를 익히고 프랑스 국가 공인 건축사(DPLG) 자격을 취득하였다. 파리 8대학 생드니 철학과에서 알랭 바디우의 지도로 철학과 건축, 도시를 아우르는 공부를 하여 「현대 건축과 도시론의 철학적 토대」라는 논문으로 박사 학위를 받았다. 현재 홍익대학교 교수로 설계와 이론을 가르치면서 새로운 건축과 도시, 철학, 영화에 대한 꿈을 꾸고 있다. 

 

 

Chang Yongsoon, professor of architecture in Hongik University, graduated from Seoul National University, practiced in Atelier d'architecture Jacques Ripault and Kiohun Architect and Associates and earned his PhD with the thesis ‘Philosophical Foundations of Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism’ supervised by Alain Badiou in the Department of Philosophy of Université Paris-VIII. He wrote ‘The Philosophical Adventure of Contemporary Architecture’, a work of four volumes, and designed the re-structuring of the Seunsangga Citywalk project and KB Rockstar Youth Step project.
